The Penny-Roach’s
I’m Andrea. I’m a working mom of 3 kids, 1 husband and 1 dog. I am THE most undomesticated person ever. This blog is my life and the crazy stories that go with it. I love writing, and I have a horrible memory, so I starting blogging 8 years ago to remember every little part of my kids lives.
I grew up in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, and lived in the same house for 22 years. Then I met Craig and moved 8 times in 9 years. I was an only child growing up and always wanted either no kids, or a ton of kids. I got my wish, I have 3 beautiful kiddies that I love to pieces. They have become my life, and I really don’t remember what I did before they came along.
While I don’t have much time for my own hobbies anymore, I still try to fit them in when I can. I love travelling, camping, hiking, reading, writing, and scrapbooking.
This is Craig. He’s my husband and the love of my life. He keeps the house running smoothly and is the best Dad in the world. He’s a bayman, he grew up in Bay Roberts, and showed me that there is indeed intelligent life past the overpass.
Craig loves hockey and beer. He plays a couple of nights a week himself, but lives at the arena with Ty. He has so many talents – renovating, building, photography, cooking, talking.
Craig only has one brother, Cory, who lives in Ontario with his wife and 4 year old son, Dimitri. We don’t get to see them as much as I wish we could.
This is Anakha. She’s 8 years old and a mini-me. Her love at the moment is Pokemon and electronics. She’s a girly-girl who loves to dress up, play pretend, and be crafty. She’s in Grade 3, in her third school, and seems to be enjoying it. She’s quite smart and loves reading and writing stories. She loves swimming and gymnastics, and wants to be a secret spy agent when she grows up.
Some days she really enjoys having little brothers, and other days she’d just as soon move to a different family. She’s a very good reader, reading books at years over her grade level, but finding appropriate books at that level has been difficult (all suggestions are welcome!). She’s currently reading the Warrior series about a clan of cats, and all Goosebumps books.
You will find that she posts here every now and again. She is currently learning HTML, and needs to show off her talents!
This is Ty. He’s my hockey superstar. Ty is 6 years old and the sweetest little boy you’ll ever meet. He just started Grade 1 and loves anything to do with numbers. He loves skating, playing hockey, soccer and pretty much any sport he’s allowed to play. He has a good imagination and keeps us laughing with his crazy stories.
His obsession is hockey. He’s on the ice at least 5 times a week, and that’s still not enough for him. He’s constantly playing hockey at home – street hockey with Daddy, mini sticks with Luke or by himself, practicing in the basement, he’s not picky. As long as a stick and ball are involved he’s happy.
Ty enjoys school, and he’s very good with numbers. He started reading this year and is doing amazing. He’s quite the charmer with the girls, young and old!
This is Luke. Luke Nanuq is my baby polar bear. At only 2 years old he’s the youngest Penny-Roach, but will probably not be the smallest for long. He’s a big boy with the cutest chubbiest cheeks. He idolizes his big brother and will do anything he does, including get in trouble with him. Luke has inherited Ty’s love of hockey, and is always going around the house with a hockey stick in both hands hitting the ball around. His favourite things are cuddles and food. Not always in that order!
Luke is extremely cranky. He seems to have inherited his Mommy’s personality even worse than his big sister. If there was anybody who was meant to be an only child, it was him. He wants ALL of the attention, ALL of the time. He is now talking a blue streak, and does not like it when people interrupt him. He gets dragged around to different activities for the big kids, and doesn’t mind at all. He’ll play with any of the kids that are around, and will gladly just sit and snuggle with Mommy or Daddy.
Luke is the devil. He is always up to no good, and the only thing that gets him out of trouble is his sweetness and cute little dimple.
