A few weeks ago I saw a simple recipe that brought back so many good memories. Cinnamon sugar toast. I remember coming home from school as a kid, going next door to my best friend’s house, and Nanny Clarke making us toast while we watched some TV and drank hot chocolate.
This recipe was a bit different, but it looked so good I had to try it out on the kids. You butter the bread, coat it with brown sugar, sprinkle on some cinnamon, and toast it in the oven for a few minutes. That’s easy enough, even for me!

I made it for the big kids one afternoon when they got home from school. It got rave reviews! Anakha told us about her best/worst part of her day, and her best part was having toast with me and Ty. Ty said the same thing. And a new tradition was born! We named it Tuesday Toast. I hope the kids never grow too old to sit and have a snack with me while they tell me about their day.

The best part of my day was eating toast with you.

Mmmm….mine too.

Perfect timing for this…our toaster just died. I never thought of it as a snack either but I am loving the idea now. Thanks for sharing!

My kids couldn’t understand how I was making toast in the oven, without a toaster!
I remember my mom making this for me as a kid, still at great snack!
I can’t believe that I had forgotten about it for so long. The kids remind me every Tuesday morning to make sure we have bread for when they get out of school!

Andrea, the toast looks great. I make cinnamon toast on most mornings for my son, but this looks more like a delicious snack. We also cover the best/worst part of their days, but I do it at night. I’m trying to incorporate my youngest (who is 4) into the mix and what comes out of his mouth is pretty funny!

I’ve done the best/worst with my 2 year old. I pretty much get “playing” as the best, and “napping” as the worst every time! It’s cute to hear what they say though.

One of my favorites as a kid too. Thanks for reminding me.

No problem! I’m not sure if me or the kids are happier about finding it
