I have a confession. Not only can I not cook, but I also can’t do anything car related. Nothing. I still have trouble with gas since they took all of the full serve pumps away from me.
So when my windshield wash light blinked at me for the second week in a row, I figured it was about time to get Ty to do it for me teach Ty to be the man of the house.

And then Ty, my Man of the House, showed me this:

Well thank you Mr Dodge, for labeling it for dummies!

It’s okay if the windshield wash gets all over the engine and other car stuff, right? Because I really hope I didn’t drop my camera on the pavement and squeal loud enough for the neighbours to hear and waste half a bottle of wash AND ruin my van all in the same day. Right?

Love it when our little men are excited to learn about grown up chores. I’ll bet he was super proud of himself!
He was indeed very proud of himself! But he is so sweet that he even said “Good job” to me.
yes, it’s ok….
When you put in anti freeze, make sure you wear gloves and try not to spill too much. It will cause smoke to come from the engine while the antifreeze burns off.
Way to put the young one to work. I approve.
Thanks for visiting my place, Penny.

Good to know I didn’t ruin anything! And I will remember gloves next time for sure. Thanks!
Won’t hurt a thing. Get him a funnel for times like this — his own “tool” to use. Very big guy you got there, I’m sure he takes care of things

How did I not think of a funnel? That would have been brilliant (and easy)!
You’re much braver than I am… I would have probably just run to the quickest lube shop and had them do it for me

I didn’t know you could do that!
I can cook and make just about anything, but I leave everything outside the house to my husband and kids. Its hubby’s department. Thankfully, HE can do just about anything to fix cars! I had to replace the tansmission fluid in our van when we were on vacation and I put it in the wrong place and ruined the A/C! Yikes. And my 10 year old daughter even said, “No, mom, I know Daddy always puts it in HERE” for the CORRECT place to put it. I felt awful. We spent the rest of our week long trip in Texas with well over 100 degree heat in a van with windows that wouldn’t roll down and no A/C because I was an idiot.

I can’t imagine that would have been very fun! Did you ever hear the end of it? My hubby would never let me live that down…LOL
I didn’t tell him! The van’s transmission totally blew out on the way home (It was a 15-16 year old vehicle and we had been coaxing it along with regular transmission fluid and him tightening the bolts on the tranny thing-a-ma-bob for over a year, so it was on its last legs) so I never said anything. I know, I’m horrible!
It was generally my hubby’s van, otherwise I would have been changing to fluids all the time myself!

Oh that’s hilarious! I think I would have tried the same thing if I had broken something
Awww what cute pics of your little man helping you do “man stuff”.

As an ex mechanic, I approve! Get those youngsters out there learning minor repairs. (He could dumped the entire jug and nothing would have happened.)

Good to know for next time! Thanks
that is so funny. I am useless around a car.

Yup, me too. Luckily, the little guy is smarter than me!
I LOVE it when I figure out little things that are “manly” tasks…until the car stops working:) But until then, it’s awesome! Well done.

Yes it definitely is. Now to teach them to clean…
Hilarious. Thank god I married a car guy.

Yup, I can see how that comes in handy for sure!
This is too funny, and I too am glad that I married a car guy and have a car guy for a dad. Between the two of them I am covered!
That’s good! I bugged hubby for two weeks to buy and put the stuff in, but then I just couldn’t wait any longer…LOL
Awww! So sweet! And a great way to make him feel like a little man!
He felt pretty cool being able to help!
I can’t believe how grown up he looks!!
I know! But he still lets me call him my Baby Ty when he’s going to bed
Haha, funny! All I can say is that it happens to me ALL THE TIME too, although I am an adult. I am just too lazy to go and get a funnel
.

A funnel would have helped a lot. Oops!
Did you see the look of pride on his face that you let him do that??!! Who cares if it made it in or not or busts the car, that look was worth it.

It definitely was! He was quite proud of himself.
That is too cute. It’s so good for a child to feel like they are making a real contribution to a family. And good for Mom when they actually DO! Yay!

Oh, I am so glad there is another Mom out there that cannot cook. I cannot cook, either. Then again, perhaps I could cook if I tried, but I don’t want to try.
I know my way around a car a little – but I am grateful the hubs does most – fine ALL – of the work. Cute post!

My parents taught me how to cook, here are the steps to help you out: Pick up phone. Dial take out number. Food arrives at door. Works for me
So cute how your little man is helping you. He’s looking so proud.

I think you’re good with the car. Your camera on the other hand… Hope it didn’t suffer too much damage.

It was only my small-fits-in-my-pocket camera. So if it did break and I *had* to get another one? I wouldn’t be too torn up about it!
You and me both, sister. I can’t cook, nor am I good at much else, either. I can write and teach. Does that help my case? By the way, those blue eyes in your blog header are beautiful.

Laura@Catharsis recently posted…Back Pain Can’t Keep ME Down! Oh Wait, Yes it Can…
You’re an excellent writer, so that’s good enough! Those blue eyes melt my heart, every single day. Love them!
How awesome! I’m impressed he was able to figure it out, because I couldn’t have.

I really don’t think I would have been able to without the little guy pointing out where it went!
Too funny! I love it when little kids solve big people problems…in the beginning….and then make it worse….haha! I guess that’s what makes them cute and precious, right?

And what is it with males and their inherent knowledge in all things vehicular? It’s like the way they know the rules to every sport known to man.
Except Cricket. Both my husband and dad agree that Cricket stumps them.
